w:l = 2:5

5w = 2l...........(a)

P = 2*(l + w) = 98

2l + 2w = 98 From (a) 2l = 5w

5w + 2w = 98.

7w = 98

w = 98/7

w = 14

2l = 5w

2l = 5*14

l = 5*14/2 = 70/2 = 35

l = 35.

Area = l * w = 35 * 14 = 490 inches²
