Y=5X-6 how would you solve for x?

Y=5x-6 first we want 5x by itself so since it's "-" 6 we add 6 to both sides so now we have y + 6=5x solve from there

first, add 6 to both sides to get..
y+6=5x
then divide each side by 5 to isolate the variable x. you get..

x = y+6
