A cone has a diameter of 12 in. and a height of 16 in.

What is the volume of the cone?

Use 3.14 as an approximation for pi and express your final answer in hundredths.

The formula for the Volume of a Cone is
(1)/(3)
\pir²h
Let us substitute:
V=
(1)/(3)×3.14×6²×16
=602.88 in³
The radius is half the diameter.(12in=d,r=
(d)/(2)=
(12)/(2)= 6 in)
pi was taken as 3.14

V=πr²
(h)/(3)

Radius = 12/2 = 6 in
Height = 16 in

V = 3.14*6
²*16/3
V = 602.88

The volume would be: Volume = 602.88 in^3
