4x is equivalent to 4 *x whereas xto the 4th power means, x times itself 4 times
4 * 2= 8
2*2*2*2= 16 bc 2*2=4 and again 2*2=4 therefore 4*4=16

Difference between (4x)⁴ and x⁴
= (4x)⁴ x⁴
= 4⁴x⁴
= 256x⁴, x⁴
Evaluate both when x = 2
(4x)⁴ = 256x⁴ = 256*2⁴ = 256*16 = 4096
x⁴ = 2⁴ = 16.
