I think better because of all the violence they've been having lately. I don't think World History is my strongest ambition, but hey, at least I'm answering it right?

Well, from what I've read about the New Imperialism, I think they were better off worse because it was quiet violent during that time period. There were so many wars going on and thousands of people died.
