5/5 = 100% of his homework correct? SO...

Take 100 / 5. This is 20. each question is 20% of his homework. So multiply 3 x 20 (since he has only completed 3) this is 60.

Now take 100 (the total) and take 60 (the number he has completed) to get your total.

Total = 40... so 40%

makes sense?

3/5 = 6/10 (which is 60%) 100% - 60% = 40%
