Use the distance formula to find the distance between two points.
D=
√((x2-x1)^2+(y2-y1)^2)
The points are (5, 6) and (1, 1)
D=
√((5-1)^2+(6-1)^2)
D=
√(4^2+5^2)
D=
√(16+25)
D=
√(41)

√(41) is about 6.4

B. 6.4 units

Hope this helps :)

use pythagorena theorme

D=
\sqrt{(x1-x2)^(2)+(y1-y2)^(2)}
NOTE: x1 and x2 means the first x and second x, not x^1 and x^2

points given are
(1,1)
(5,6)
x1=1
y1=1
x2=5
y2=6
D=
\sqrt{(1-5)^(2)+(1-6)^(2)}
D=
\sqrt{(-4)^(2)+(-5)^(2)}
D=
√(16+25)
D=
√(41)
6.403
