Given

Perry's school is selling tickets to a spring musical. On the first day of ticket sales, the school sold 2 adult tickets and 5 child tickets for a total of $44. The school took in $92 on the second day by selling 6 adult tickets and 5 child tickets.

Answer

Let the price of one adult ticket be x

And the price of one child ticket be y

A/Q

2x + 5 y = 44 (1)

6x + 5y = 92 (2)

Multiply equation (1) by 3

6x + 15 y = 132 (3)

Subtracting eq (2) and eq (3)

10y = 40

y = 4

Put value of y in (1)

2x + 5 (4)= 44

2x = 44 - 20

2x = 24

x = 12

Price of one adult ticket is $12

Price of one child ticket is $ 4
