Producers use photosynthesis to produce, or make there own food. Hence the name producers. They are also called producers because they produce food for animals, and sometimes other plants.

Producers are the plants through photosynthesis produce their own food.
Producers recycle organic matter.
The relationship between them is what makes up the food .
