Synapomorphies are considered to be very important in the construction of cladogram because they serve as label or a mark in the classification of organisms based on their traits in creating the cladogram. Synapomorphies refers to the traits that are commonly shared by the organisms. In order to create a cladogram, a synapomorphy must be written under the name of the organism for trait identification purposes and to show that the organisms really have the same traits.
