D the Constitution gave a lot of power to the national hovernment, washington thought the states should take on more

Must be D. George Washington was a Federalist, and that party believed that the government under the articles was not strong enough and they needed a constitution that gave the federal government more power. He became president due to the making of the Constitution, so he must have supported it one way or another.
