Aviation pioneers or most of them started out as barnstormers. Everyone has heard of planes. But very little knew what they looked like and what they did. When barnstormers came to towns and cities and it showed people planes. Many people saw the planes and got inspired and wanted to fly. The aviation industry grew because of it. Soon aviation was used a lot more like the Air Mail Service. When WWII came about it was known as the War of Aviation because a lot of battle were fought in the air. Planes became essential.
