unit rate problem, easy peasy
the beginig part where they say that they are going to sell for 5 dollars is a distraction
to find best company that offers best deal, find lowest unit rate (example, 2 dollars per toy is better than 2.5 dollars per toy)
basically an easy way to compare is
how much is 1 toy?
so if you had
18toys for 50.76
so
50.76 per 18 toys
50.76/18
divide and make denomenaotr 1
50.76/18=2.82 per 1 toy
so just divide (total price)/(number of toys for that price)=unit rate=price per 1 toy so
A=50.76/18=2.82
B=33.48/12=2.79
C=42.75/15=2.85
lowest one is 2.79
therefor company B is best value
