283 ÷ 4 = 70, 3/4
2 ÷ 4 not possible, 28 yes by 70 and 3 remainder which is 70 and 3/4 :)

First thing up, are there any fours in two? Obviously there are none. So, we would have to see if there are any fours in twenty-eight. There are seven fours in twenty-eight. Therefore, the first digit of the quotient is 7.
