When lung cancer reaches stage 3, the cancer has spread to other cells and the lymph nodes. The prognosis (or five year survival rate) is 36%. As far as treatment goes, if the doctor is unable to remove the tumor they will recommend chemotherapy treatments. Chemotherapy and radiation treatments are often paired together for these treatments as well.
