Sydney says that 4/8 is closer to 0 than 1 is she correct explain

Sydney is wrong.
(4)/(8) is equivalent to the fraction
(1)/(2), which is the same as 0.5 in decimal form. It is not closer to either 0 or 1 as the distance between the two numbers are equal. (0.5 - 0.5 = 0, 0.5 + 0.5 = 1. It is exactly in the middle of 0 and 1.
