I assume that 4 2/3 is 4 and 2/3, not 4 * 2/3. If so, 4 2/3 is as much as 14/3.

A. 4/3 (x + 2) = 4/3x + 8/3
B. 1/3 (4x + 6) = 4/3x + 2
C. 2/3 (2x + 4) = 4/3x + 8/3
D. 2/3 (2x + 7) = 4/3x + 14/3

It means that D is correct.

For this case we have the following expression:

(4)/(3)x + 4(2)/(3)

The first thing we must do for this case is to write the mixed number as a fraction.

We have then:

(4)/(3)x + (14)/(3)

Then, we can do common factor 2/3 in the expression.

We have then:

(2)/(3)(2x + 7)

Answer:

An equivalent expression is:

(2)/(3)(2x + 7)

Option D
