The flow of electric current produces a magnetic field
around the conductor.

The current doesn't produce mechanical energy, and there's
no way it could magically build a generator or a motor.

Answer:

a. a magnetic field

Step-by-step explanation:

A current carrying coil produces magnetic field around it. Field lines in the form of circular loops of magnetic field with wire at it center is produced. Right hand thumb rule can be used to find the direction of the magnetic field. The thumb points in the direction of the current, the fingers curl in the direction of the magnetic field.
