America's involvement in the Vietnam War ended under the administration of president Richard Nixon.
On January 27, 1973, the delegation from South Vietnam, the North Vietnamese, the United States and the Viet Cong signed the Paris Peace Accords. The document consisted of 23 articles with the missions of each side. It was arduously prepared down to the smallest details. The signing supposed, among other issues, the withdrawal of the Americans in sixty days.
On March 29, 1973, American troops left Vietnam after eleven years of war and conflict.
