The year is the time required to complete one orbital trip around the sun.
The Earth's rotation has nothing to do with the length of the year.

The Earth's period of axial rotation determines the total length of the day, and the breakdown of light and dark in any one place. Our orbital motion has some influence on that but not a lot.
