This advancement also suppressed the cell phone industry which only allowed voice calls at that time.
Also, people used to write mails and used to send telegrams. The telephone came into scenario and gave people an option to communicate faster which previously used to take days to send a message. Then in the 1990's, the email was introduced and gave everyone a platform to send instant and free messages. This gained popularity in 1996-97 with Hotmail services. Later on, it got updated with instant messaging services across the globe like Whatsapp services. Thus, this is how technology varies and are valued accordingly by their usage in that era and the types of technologies grew independently in their respective fields and replaced the outdated ones.
