Can someone pleas shorten this paragraph into a detailed yet two sentenced paragraph that can be easily be understood:

. After suffocating and dismembering the old man, our wicked narrator made sure that no evidence is found inside the home. The police arrived suspicious of a shriek overheard the night before, therefore investigated the whole house before sitting down to chat with the unsuspected man. They continued chatting until the narrator heard an intolerable ringing in his ears. His guilt got better of him, causing him to confess to his crimes.

The narrator was guilty that he suffocated and dismembered the old man. When the police arrived and had a chat with him, the guilt got to him and he confessed his crimes.

I hope that's good enough!
