Find a common denominator. The easiest way to do this is by multiplying 6 × 8 (=48.)

So now we have to make the numerators match the denominators, so multiply 6 by 8 for the first fraction, and 6 by 6 for the second frcation.

The first fraction now becomes:

(48)/(48)

whereas the second fraction now becomes:

(36)/(48)

Now it should be easier to see, so you tell me, which one is bigger?

(48)/(48) or
(36)/(48)?

Obviously it's the first one, as 48 is a bigger number than 36, so the correct answer is 6/6.

(Side note: whenever the numerator is the same as the denominator, it means that it is just 1 in decimal. Therefore, any other normal fraction (e.g. 6/8) would be smaller.)

First, turn both fractions in to a decimal, in order to do that you have to divide.

(6 divided by 6 = 1.00) and (6 divided 8 = .75)

Second, turn both decimals into a percent by moving the decimal to the right two times

(1.00 turned into 100) and (.75 turned into 75)

Third, Simply add a percentage sign after the number.

(100 turned into 100%) and (75 turned into 75%)

Finally, see what percentage is greatest.

100% or 75%

100% is greater, so 6/6 is your answer
