As we know,
Area = length × width
Divide width on both sides
Area/width = length × width/ width
Flip the equation
Length = Area/width

Area = length x width
with a little algebra we can reorganize the equation and solve for length...
A = L x W
A/W = L
So the statement divide the area by the width is TRUE.
