A pump currently contains 4 7/8 gallons of water but needs to be filled to capacity. The capacity of the pump is 9 5/8 gallons. How much more water is needed to completely fill the pump? Express your answer in simplest mixed-number form.

Steps
1. Determine The Capacity

2. Determine how much the pump contains

3. Subtract 9 5/8 - 4 7/8

4. 5 and 7 cant subtract

5. Regroup 9 5/8 to 8 13/8

6. Now you have to subtract 8 13/8 - 4 7/8

7. You're answer from step 6 should be 4 3/4

So, 4 3/4 water is needed to completely fill the pump.
