16 more than 8 of a certain number is 24 more than 6 times that number. What is the number?

Instead of looking at the hole number of: 24 You should just break it down into two parts. The first part is 20 and the second is 4. The rest is easy, multiply 4x6 which gives you 24, and 20x6 which gives you 120. And then just add them, 120+24=144
