140 + 5 + 5/6 + 3 + 2/3

Combine like terms:
140 + 5 + 3 + 5/6 + 2/3
148 + 5/6 + 2/3

Rules in adding fractions:
1) Get the least common denominator:
multiple of 6: 6, 12
multiple of 3: 3, 6, 9, 12 LEAST COMMON DENOMINATOR IS 12.

148 * 12/12 = 1776/12
5/6 * 2/2 = 10/12
2/3 * 4/4 = 8/12

2) Add the numerators and place the sum above the LCD.

1776/12 + 10/12 + 8/12 = (1776+10+8)/12 = 1794/12

3) Simplify the fraction. A mixed fraction will result from simplifying an improper fraction. Improper fraction has a numerator that is bigger then its denominator.

1794/12 = 149 6/12 = 149 1/2
