,Given that:

\begin{gathered} f(x)=3x-7,x>0 \\ f(x)=-2x+3,x<0 \end{gathered}

Find

f(-5)

From the question, we can see that -5 is less than 0 (- 5 < 0) and with this condition, the equation to satisfy this condition will be

f(x)=-2x+3

Hence,

susbstitute the value of x = -5 in the function above

\begin{gathered} f(x)=-2x+3 \\ f(-5)=-2(-5)+3 \\ f(-5)=10+3 \\ f(-5)=13 \end{gathered}

Hence,

The value of f( -5 ) = 13
