President Calvin Coolidge was the first President of United States to broadcast the state of the Union Speech on the Radio. Growing importance of Radio and the requests received at the White House made him use Radio to his advantage. He pointed out the increasing value of Radio for securing public support in the forthcoming election. There was a Multi-Station Radio Hookup through which all section of the country listened to him.

It would "Calvin Coolidge" who was the first to broadcast the State of the Union speech on the radio, which was very important because a large population of Americans had a radio--making such a broadcast very "unifying" for the nation.
