Lets make this simple.
7am + 5hours is 12pm
12pm + 6hours is 6pm
> 12 hours total
6pm + 6hours is 12am
Add up how many hours in all i added
12 + 5 = 17 hours.

your answer would be 17 hours. you dont really need an equation for this, just count the number of hours.
