How and why did the French & Indian War negatively affect the relationship between the colonies and England?​

After the French and Indian War (which the British won) Britain was left with a big debt due to war. Furthermore, the colonies were forced to pay high taxes, which didn’t have them content at all. This increased tensions between England and the colonies, ultimately leading the the American Revolution.
