Mrs. Stephens drove through a total of 36 intersections on her way home. At 4 of every 16 intersections, she had to stop for a red light before she could drive through. At how many intersections did she have to stop for a red light?

total intersections=36
since out of every 16 intersections, 4 had a red light. this means out of 36, 8 had red lights. So, she had to stop at 8 intersections.
