it is a linear simple equation for one unknown, lets solve it!
-4.2x + 31.5 = -65.1
we can easily get rid of decimals if we multiply the whole equation times 10:
-42x + 315 = -651
-42x = -651 - 315 = -966
x = 966/42
x = 23
that is the solution

Negative 4.2x+31.5=negative 65.1
