Persia invaded Greece twice. The first was to punish them for supporting the Ionian Revolt. They succeed in overrunning smaller states but were stopped by the Athenians at Marathon. Later they tried to launch a second invasion but were defeated at Salamis and later Plataea. This put an end to Persian invasions on Greece.
