an airplane climbs at a rate of 66.8 feet per minute. It descends at twice the rate that it climbs. Assuming it descends at a constant rate, how many feet will the aitplane descend in 30 minutes.

The distance formula is distance(d) = rate(r) x time(t). In this problem we are trying to find the distance and we are given the rate which in this case is 66.8 feet per minute * 2 and the time is 30 minutes. We can substitute this into our equation we get:
D = 133.6 x 30. When we multiply this out we get D = 4008 ft.
