The slope of the line that passes through points (x1, y1) and (x2, y2) is computed as follows:

m=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)

Replacing with points (5,10) and (1,9) we get:

m=(9-10)/(1-5)=(-1)/(-4)=(1)/(4)

The slope is 1/4
