Hi there!

One simple trick I learned in 2nd grade when rounding is:

Five or more, raise the score! (Round up!)

Four or less, let it rest! (Keep the number the same or round down)

So, we'll look at all the numbers after the decimal point, since that is where the cents are located.

As we see, 997 is larger than 5, so we will round up and make the numbers after the decimal point 0's. Then, we'll move the 16 up one number.

It will be 17$ and 0 cents.

This is how to round up to the nearest cent :) And this will work for any situation you have and you're trying to round. You can use this as a guide.
