why is that right?
Because if it's saying "over here," it means they are already over there…SO, you need to BRING them to that person NOT TAKE it TO them. You can TAKE it FROM somewhere, but you can't BRING something from somewhere.

If you are asking which word better fits the sentence, then the answer would be bring, making the sentence please bring your books over here.

You are more likely to use take if you are talking about going somewhere else such as in the sentence please take your books over there.
