The initial population of a town is 3900, and it grows with a doubling time of 10 years. What will the population be in 8 years. What will the population be in 8 years? What will the population be in 8 years?

This is the problem, I am trying to get the formula for 2 t/T double? The help me solve and example don't show me how to work the problem, it just gives the answer 2 14/8 double ~=~ 2 t/T double, i don't know how the answer is found,

the initial population of a town is 3300

after 10 years: 3300 + 3300*(10/10) = 6600

after 12 years: 6600 + 6600*(2/10) = 7920

Answer:

5746

Explanation:

Given that the initial population of a town is 3900, and it grows with a doubling time of 10 years.

i.e. population grows exponentially as

P(t) = 3900 (2)^{(t)/(10) }

Using this we can calculate population for 8 years

P(8) =
3900(2)^{(8)/(10) } \\=5745.63\\~5746

Population in 8 years is 5746
