- 3 x + 4 = - 8

subtract 4 from both sides :

- 3 x + 4 - 4 = - 8 - 4

- 3 x = - 12

Divide both sides by : - 3

- 3 x / 3 = - 12 / - 3

x = 12 / 3

x = 4

hope this helps!

Hi there, to solve this problem we have to do this, Add -4 on both sides, 4+-4+-3x=-8+-4. Now you should have, -3x=-12. Lastly, we divide each side by -3, which gives us x=4. Therefore, the answer is x=4. Hoped I helped. :)
