The correct answer is - False.

The major cities in the western part of the United States are not older than the major cities on the Atlantic Coast in the eastern part of the country. This is due to the way in which the people settled in in the territory of the United States. People first started to settle on the Atlantic Coast, and for around 200 years they were concentrated in this part, and in meantime developed cities, towns, and villages. It was only at the beginning of the 19th century that people started moving westwards, and that was initially towards the central part of the country, and even later was the mass movement towards the far west of the country, so the cities in the western United States developed much later than the ones on the Atlantic Coast.
