Simplify both sides of the equation

-15x-5=4x-8x

-15x+-5=4x+-8x

Combine like terms

-15x-5=(4x+-8x)

-15x-5=-4x

Add 4x to both sides

-15x-5+4x=-4x+4x

-11x-5=0

Add 5 to both sides

-11x-5+5=0+5

-11x=5

Divide both sides by -11

-11x/-11=5/-11

x= -5/11

or as a decimal x = -0.45

I hope that's help !

Easy,

-15x-5=4x-8x

Add any "like" terms

-15x-5=-4x

Since you are trying to find x, isolate the variable.

-15x-5=-4x
+15x +15x

Making it,

-5=11x

Divide by 11 to isolate x

(-5)/(11)= (11x)/(11)

x=
(-5)/(11)

Thus, your answer.
