10 pounds jam=5 pounds apples
therefor divide both sides by 5
2 poinds jam=1 pound apple
1 pound jam=1/2 pound apple
8 pounds jam=8 times 1/2 pound apple
8 times 1/2=4
answe is 4 pounds apples
