How did Alexander's attempt to make his empire secure help lead to the Hellenistic Age?

This is my best guess according to the lesson i read:

Making the empire secure meant no invaders. This helped because if it would have been conquered Alexandria wouldn’t have been made and neither would other big roles in history.
