1/4 of an hour is 15 minutes. So all you have to do is divide 5.5 gallons by 15 minutes to get your per minute answer. That comes out to about 3.67.

The amount leaked out of the barrel in a minute would be 5 1/2 gallons divided by 15 to get per minute.
this comes out as 0.367th of a gallon per minute
