Science did not emerge as a recognizable system of study in the 800s. This is a false statement.
The scientific pursuit of knowledge came to be much later on, a few centuries indeed. The thing was that during the 800s, there were perhaps a handful of individuals around Europe who were doing scientific discoveries, with a major shift happening only after a few centuries later.
