1 gallon=$3.76
$3.76×41.8gallons=$157.16

so for this question, we know his car gets an average of 32 miles per gallon so if he wants to travel 1340 mile and the cost of gas is $3.76 the answer is:
1340/32 = 41.875 ⇒ 41.875* 3.76 = 157.45 $ :)))
