Area of square tiles = 16 ft²
Area of rectangular floor = 52 yards * 40 yards = 2080 yards²
Number of square tiles needed = Area of Rectangular floor / Area of square tiles
3feet = 1 yard
Number = 2080 yards² / 16 ft²
= 2080 * (3 ft)² / 16 ft² having substituted
= 2080 * 3² ft² / 16 ft²
= (2080 *9) / 16
= 1170
So 1170 tiles are needed.
