The total number of students is given as 50, and out of this total, 35 said they prefer summer.

This means on a circle graph, the degree out of a total of 360 degrees (total measure of degrees in a circle) that prefers summer is represented by a fraction of 35 over 50.

This is shown below;

\begin{gathered} Portion\text{ that prefer summer is represented by x} \\ \text{Therefore,} \\ (35)/(50)=(x)/(360) \\ \text{Cross multiply and you'll have} \\ (35*360)/(50)=x \\ 252=x \end{gathered}

The degree measure of the part of the circle that represents summer is 252 degrees
