First you turn 9 1/2 to 4ths which is 9 2/4 . Then you subtract 9 2/4 - 4 3/4 = well first we can change both to improper fractions. 9 2/4= 38/4 4 3/4 = 19/4 so 38/4 - 19/4 = 19/4 = 4 3/4 your brother is 4 3/4 younger than your sister.
